To keep people divided, busy and tribally warring against each other.

While the real power brokers (Fed, IMF, World Bank, WEF, Bank of International Settlements, etc.) wielded the financial and monetary power behind the curtains, while people were bickering amongst themselves, completely unaware of where the true power lies.
